Sunday Services Morning service format Amongst Methodist churches we are somewhat unusual in that we book our own preachers as well as having our own minister, whom also has four other churches to lead.

A local worship leader normally leads the service through, allowing the preacher to concentrate on the ministry of The Word. Children are usually in the service for the first 15-20 minutes before going to "LiveWires". For more on youth events please see our Youth page. Communion

Communion is taken during the service one Sunday in each month. After the service tea and coffee are served at the back of the church. We do not take up an offering in any service but there is a box on the way in if you would like to contribute. The members of the church take responsibility for the financial needs of the church. There is a loop system for those with hearing impairment.
Preachers We have a variety of preachers at our Sunday services, including our minister, other church members, the local Methodist cicuit and preachers from a variety of other tradtitions and backgrounds. An archive of past sermons is available to download via dropbox. Here is the schedule for the next few months. Songs and Worship - Lively and Diverse guitarist In any family there is diversity and we attempt to cater for lots of preferences in the styles of worship we provide. We have several musicians and singers and through our lively worship style we seek to communicate in a relevant way to help people to connect with God. A different worship leader leads worship each week, which in itself brings different flavours to the worship. The words of songs and readings are on screen and we also make use of Power Point and video clips when relevant. Evening Worship We have a variety of different Evening Services:
Bible First Sunday in the month: Open Prayer Stations at 6.30pm for an hour. The prayer team set up different prayer 'stations' where people are invited to move around and pray quietly for different needs. These may be the missions we support, or topical issues or different needs around the world. Tea and coffee are usually available.
Second Sunday: Our Minister leads a service at 6:30pm. This is a quiet, reflective service, which often includes Holy Communion and an opportunity to be prayed for for healing.
Third Sunday: Currently no Evening Service.
Fourth Sunday: The Christians at the four churches in Capel St Mary join together for prayer at 6.30 - 7.30pm (7.30pm start during the summer months) These services are hosted and led by each church in turn.
Feel At Home - Meet With God When you attend the church our intention is to help you meet with God and provide a frame work and atmosphere that will enable you to do that no matter what back ground you come from. Being a community is important to us and our intention is to be relevant to your needs, we may not always succeed but you will feel comfortable with us all and new people are joining us all the time and making Capel Methodist their permanent home.
