Peter Hollands
Responsibilities: TBD
Peter is retired having worked in the print industry for over 45 years. He lives in Ipswich with wife Hazel they have a son and daughter and 5 grandchildren. He enjoys playing bowls and table tennis, he is also a season ticket holder at Portman Road. Peter is a listening volunteer with Samaritans and finds this humbling and rewarding. As a new steward Peter helps with young people within the Church as well as the pastoral team and enjoys meeting and supporting people in this way. He still helps with "open the book" and chairs a Methodist pre-school at his previous Church.
Maggie Boswell
Responsibilities: Outreach and Children
Maggie is a retired Primary School teacher who taught at both Capel School and Stratford St Mary prior to working for 6 years as Playleader at Sunshine Pre-school in Capel. She has lived in the village since 1973 and has 2 married sons and 2 grandchildren. She has played guitar in the church worship band for many years and is passionate about reaching out to young families in the village with a variety of activities including Open the Book and Messy Church. She also runs Busy Bees.
Carole Almond
Responsibilities: Administration
Carole has lived in Capel for 25 years, is married to Nick, and has 2 sons and one grandson, who is gorgeous! She has worked as a secretary and in the IT unit at Suffolk Probation Service, and later taught IT at Otley College, qualifying as a teacher in further education. She currently enjoys running computer courses at home and has written a number of course books. A highlight of her life was studying for a Cambridge diploma in religious studies and a degree in theology, while working and bringing up two teenage sons. She enjoys preaching and her passion is to help people draw closer to God through preaching, prayer and leading worship. She loves reading, singing in a choir, does keepfit and hand-bell ringing.
Andrew Vellacott
Responsibilities: Buildings and finance link with the treasurer
Andrew is a farmer and has lived in Capel for over 30 years, now at Great Wenham. Married to Carol, they have two married sons and 2 grandchildren. His passions include long walks, bird watching, managing wildlife projects on the farm and growing vegetables. He is a keen Ipswich Town supporter and enjoys watching sport live and on TV particularly rugby. He has been involved in outreach to men, Bible study home groups and occasional preaching and leading worship. Also he is a Town Pastor in Ipswich. Andrew endeavours to live out his Christian faith on the “frontline” of work and in the community, and likes to encourage others in this.
Stephen Durrant
Responsibilities: Buildings and Home groups
Stephen is a retired teacher and has lived in Capel since 2009. He is married to Gill and they have five children and five grandchildren between them. He enjoys watching sport ( including ITFC! ), playing badminton and bellringing. He is a church organiser and has been involved in Open the Book at the local primary school. He is also the treasurer of Churches Together in Capel. His passions are worship, particularly singing along to the band, and being part of a church community who support each other, take part in many outreach activities and live out their Christian faith in their day to day lives.
Emma Bowyer
Responsibilities: Worship
Emma has lived in Capel since 1979. She enjoys sport - espcially cricket and supports ITFC!!!. She loves to walk her dogs and enjoys swiming. Her Church passions are worship and encouraging people to 'have a go' and try something! She loves leading worship and seeing people experience God. Emma is a teacher whose main subject is geography - which she really loves!
